Henry L. Becker, Jr., CFP®

Henry has worked in the Financial Services industry for over 15 years and now serves as Director of Research and Investment Strategy for Lighthouse Wealth Management.  He began working with Lighthouse in September of 2011 and became the newest partner of the firm in April of 2012. Henry has held positions with some of America’s largest pension providers and mutual fund companies.  Prior to joining Lighthouse Henry ran his own investment management firm, Becker Advisory Services, since 2009.

Henry’s decision to merge his business with Lighthouse was driven by a desire to be part of a like-minded, client-focused team of advisors while maintaining autonomy and passion for his work. Henry has experience in overall financial planning but specializes in global economics and investment management. Henry uses a mixture of both technical analysis as well as fundamental analysis to guide investment decisions. His approach is to keep up with changing global market dynamics.

Henry was born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and served as a logistics specialist from 1987 to 1992. After his enlistment in the military, Henry returned to Pittsburgh and attended The University of Pittsburgh where he earned his Bachelor of Art in West European History. He completed his studies for the Certified Financial Planner™ designation through the American College in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania and has been authorized to use the CFP® mark since 2004. Henry is also a self-trained Austrian economist and member of the Ludwig von Mises institute.

Henry and his wife Tracy currently reside in New Market, Maryland. They are one of a few people that have circumnavigated the world in one trip.  From August of 2000 to July of 2001 they spent their honeymoon traveling to over twenty countries.   Out of the office, Henry and his wife are busy raising three boys and trying to see as much of the world as possible.
